I don’t know much about this horde, I just got two CD’s of LATHSPELL of Balázs (NEVERHEARED Distro, so that is why I have never heared about this Finnis outfit, hehe) and the only info I have is that what is written int he booklet. And acording to it, this songs are older compositions, maybe demosongs that were put together on this CD and the label released it as an album. The first sounds didn’t suggest anything great here, but fortunately later it got better and better. This finnish band prduces nothing special, nothing astonishing, they just play this Cold Northern Black Metal music. Don’t think on the nowadays “northern Black Metal” bands this time, LATHSPELL still knows how to summon the real evil feelings, and that is why this album belongs to the better Scandinavian Black Metal releases. Loyal to their styl-definition , LATHSPELL relays also a frigid feeling, so you better put on something warm when you are listening to this material, hehe, so,the coldness is there for sure. The two materials were recorded in different studios, though I couldn’t find anything differing in the sound. By the way, the sound. Well, I found it a bit weak, I had to turn up the volume a bit higher than normal, but this isn’t really a problem though. But it is also true, that this sound fits the best for this kind of music! It is true that this isn’t an extraordinary stuff, but it is still better than most of the shity albums that are released under similar monickers that LATHSPELL uses. At least LATHSPELL is loyal to its music’s definition…
